Quentin Tarantino je velkým milovníkem brakové kinematografie, přičemž z bezbřehé oblasti exploatace a žánrových divočin má zvláštní slabost pro filmy se silnými a neoblomnými hrdinkami. Poté, co v diptichu K*ll Bill vystavěl ódu na bijáky o pomstě a bojových uměních, vystavěl svůj následující projekt Auto zabiják jako důmyslnou reflexi genderové dynamiky různých druhů exploatačních filmů - od těch kde jsou ženy oběťmi vyšinutých zabijáků až po ty, kde si hrdinky nenechají nic líbit a kdejakému machistovi s vervou šlápnou do úsměvu. Současně tuto linii provázal s dalším velkým fetišem žánrové kinematografie, kterým jsou nablýskané staré auťáky a řvoucí motory.
Dávno před Tarantinem stejný mix povrchní smyslnosti, rázných dominantních ženských figur, rychlých bouráků i zabíjení a odvázané muziky spletl dohromady věhlasný král pokleslosti a obdivovatel bujných křivek Russ Meyer v ikonickém exploaťáku Faster, Pussycat! K*ll! K*ll! z roku 1965, jenž si během dalších dekád vydobyl kultovní status. V našem kině si tento legendární hit nezávislé žánrové podukce můžete vychutnat spolu s Tarantinovou poctou Auto zabiják, v níž proti kráskám postavil automobilového kaskadéra a zároveň vraždícího maniaka s pro tyto účely speciálně upraveným autem.

Quentin Tarantino is a great admirer of trash cinema, and from the boundless realm of exploitation and wild genre films he has a special affinity for films with strong and unyielding heroines. After his ode to revenge and martial arts flicks in the diptych K*ll Bill, he concieved his next project Death Proof as an ingenious reflection of the gender dynamics of various types of exploitation films - from those where women are victims of deranged killers to those where the heroines kick all sorts of ass. At the same time, he also gave way to another great fetish of genre cinema, which is vintage cars.
Long before Tarantino, the similar blend of sensual dominant female figures, roaring engines, murders, and groovy music was mixed together by the famous admirer of the busty female form Russ Meyer in the iconic exploitation film Faster, Pussycat! K*ll! K*ll! from 1965, which gained cult status over the following decades. In our cinema, you can enjoy this legendary hit of independent genre production together with Tarantino's tribute Death Proof, in which he pitted a car stuntman and a murderous maniac with a specially modified car against beauties.
